About the lecture
University libraries provide increasingly comprehensive digital resources to support research, teaching and studies – from academic publications and research data to digitalised historical book collections. It seems that electronic availability has become the standard, whereas the physical book is the exception. But according to which criteria should university libraries structure their collections? Is it sensible to pursue a rigorous e-only strategy to promote change? And which collecting culture meets the needs of research best?
