Philosophers are frequently asked to be experts in ethics. They are expected to advise on what to do, where to go in all kinds of matters, including so-called “ ethical accompanying research”. But can this role generally attributed to philosophy in questions of responsible research be maintained? For the speaker, who founded the Academic Quarter exactly ten years ago, this role attribution is questionable. Why and in what respect should philosophers be privileged over other researchers?
