The challenge:
If the migration of white blood cells could be influenced systematically, certain autoimmune disorders could be prevented. But before we can communicate with the cells, the communication between the cells must be properly understood, scientists have to be able to communicate with each other in an interdisciplinary way, and they also have to communicate their results to a broader public. So many communication problems that all need to be solved at once.
