Welcoming of the new FiF Fellows on 30 January 2025
A team with an interdisciplinary approach!
2025/02/03 by FiF/sip
Inspiration and ideas, in other words constructive cooperation, can be expected from the five Fellows who have been in office since 1 January 2025 – some of them in their second period of office.

Forum interdisziplinäre Forschung (FiF) welcomed its fellows on 30 January with the handover of their certificates. Professor Nina Grünberger (Human Sciences) and Professor Sophie Loidoldt (Social and Historical Sciences) were named as new Fellows on January 1st. Professors Ulrich Knaack (Civil Engineering), Marcus Rose (Chemistry) and Samuel Schabel (Mechanical Engineering) were reappointed.

Interdisciplinarity? An inspiration! Especially when you're stuck (this also happens to scientists!), alternative perspectives and impulses are incredibly helpful – organised coincident!

A creative honorary position – FiF Fellow
Since its foundation in 2008, the infrastructure of FiF has also included fellows. We are familiar with fellows from the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin or from colleges such as Oxford and Cambridge. Anyone who is appointed as a Fellow of a college at Oxbridge is part of an advisory board, in other words jointly responsible for the development of the college. The institution of the Fellows at Oxbridge has been a valuable inspiration since the foundation of FiF. Appointed every two years by the President of the TU, the FiF Fellows correspond to the function of the Fellows of a college in Oxbridge. First of all: The position of a FiF Fellow is an honorary post. Furthermore, the FiF Fellows are, so to speak, its advisory board. Their task is to provide FiF with advice on its activities. For example, the creative format of the was developed and designed by the circle of Fellows a few years ago. Other Fellows continue to set thematic focuses. DenkRaums
