Book presentation at Kunstforum on 28 November 2023, 6 pm c.t.

The volume Hans Jonas and Marburg Hermeneutics, edited by Andreas Großmann and Malte Dominik Krüger and recently published by Vittorio Klostermann, follows the traces of “Marburg hermeneutics” in the thinking of Jonas. The latter is primarily associated with the philosopher Martin Heidegger and the Protestant theologian Rudolf Bultmann, to whose circle of students Jonas belonged in Marburg along with Hannah Arendt, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Karl Löwith and others. So what is meant by “Marburg hermeneutics”? And what are the significant themes, problems and questions associated with them? And finally, to what extent is Jonas' thinking characterised by it?
